ABOUT THE FILMMAKER

 

 

Huriyyah is a writer, director and producer whose passion lies at the intersection of telling great stories and helping others to do the same. As a producer, she has led the production of multiple independent films, and most recently was selected as a 2018 Sundance Institute Creative Producing Fellow. Driven by a desire to advance the representation of people of color both above and below the line, she co-founded the Black TV & Film Collective, a growing 501c3 with over 1200 members.
